Good luck found me on Friday the 13th of all days, in August of 2010, when I managed to catch both 30J and 31J along the Lower Harrisburg Line. First we see signal 165E light up for 30J, then two minutes later, the train shows up. CP Rail 164, NS 30J, CSX Z482 7:35 hrs CP ES44DC #8888 CP ES44DC #8798 5 Freight Cars A tiny 30J rolls over the BFI Crossing in Swedesburg, PA, with but five freight cars, and zero intermodal containers. Friday is a slow business day for the eastbound train. Due to its length, it came back as 31J at its usual time. CP Rail 165, NS 31J, CSX Z483 22:15 hrs CP ES44DC #8798 CP ES44DC #8888 17 Intermodal Cars (37 Loaded Platforms (5 Doublestacks)) 15 Freight Cars 31J is much more productive than the morning train, with a total of 32 cars proper. Here he streaks through CP Woodlane on to Binghamton. Indeed this was a lucky day, to have seen both CP runthroughs on the Harrisburg Main, which is an opportunity I may never have again. I hope you enjoy these trains….
