Just like I promised, this is a review of the new Bachmann Class 350 Desiro Electric Multiple Unit in the unbranded Central Trains/Silverlink livery as delivered in 2004 and this unit is numbered as 350111 named “Apollo”. This is actually a Class 350/1 hence that the newer 350/2’s do not have the air-con pods mounted on the roofs like the Class 350/1 units do. The model is DCC ready and you will only require one 21-pin decoder as the directional lighting, cab lighting and interior lights are powered via the “live” coupling bars and the model also has illuminated destination blinds at the cab ends as well which I think is a very nice feature on the model as I have not seen this on any previous models that are availible up to yet. The motor which is located in the pantograph car is also very quiet as most of the running noise comes from the “swoosh” made by the wheels from the trailer cars on this train pack.
